In a huge move for the Collegiate FGC (CFGC), “Saint Cola” has been announced as their first Ambassador. Saint Cola is a longtime competitor and commentator in the FGC, and he’ll be looking to lend his talents to the upstart collegiate organization.
The CFGC is a new collegiate league that just finished its first year of operation. Last year, they held online regular seasons and playoffs for four of the top fighting games. Now, on the brink of their second season, the CFGC is looking to improve on all fronts.
Expanding and Improving the CFGC
“We are thrilled to welcome Ryan ‘TNS | Saint Cola’ Collins to the CFGC as our first-ever industry ambassador,” said Bernard “Raynex” Mafei. Raynex is the organization’s Ambassador Relations Manager.
“With his extensive experience, knowledge, and passion for the FGC, we believe in his ability to inspire and mentor the next generation of esports talent, many of whom are students,” said Raynex. “Ryan’s own story of grit and hard work embodies the spirit of the FGC, and we are excited to share it with our audience.”
“Through this relationship, we are confident in enhancing the overall CFGC experience and showcasing the unique benefits of integrating fighting games into collegiate esports.”

What Saint Cola Brings to the Table
Saint Cola is no stranger to the fighting game community. He’s been commentating FGC events since around 2019 when he released his first Highlight Reel. Since then, he’s honed his craft and made the transition from local tournaments to major events like EVO, CEO, and DreamHack.
He also works as a Caster for Tampa Never Sleeps (TNS), a prominent event organizer within the FGC.
Through this partnership, Saint Cola expands his reach even further in the FGC, this time into collegiate esports.
From an interview he gave to TopTier in 2020, it’s clear that Saint Cola has always been looking for ways to improve his community.
“I guess the best way to describe it,” he says, “is I wanna give back what was given to me.”
Saint Cola will have plenty of opportunity to make his impact in the CFGC. His connections in the industry could be great in helping to expand the league’s reach within the wider FGC.

What’s Next for CFGC
Based on this first announcement, it’s likely that Saint Cola won’t be the only ambassador joining the team. With Saint Cola being the first ambassador, there’s likely to be more announced before the start of their second year.
It’s unclear what direction Raynex and the rest of the CFGC team will take in picking their inaugural ambassadors. Saint Cola’s announcement, though, means that any big name in the FGC could be the next ambassador.
Besides ambassadors, the CFGC will be looking to improve on all manner of operations going into their second year. Whether through offering new titles or through better outreach, there’s surely greater improvements and announcements on the horizon.
