Have a little extra free time? We are always looking for volunteers to join our team. Work with CEN on a flexible time commitment. We ask that all volunteers commit to 2 articles or videos per month to remain active.
Article Writer

We are looking for writers who are eager to cover the fast-paced world of college esports. These are paid roles which focus on covering Breaking News or Features (interviews, editorial, and more) with a tight turnaround.
Event Contractor

We’re building a contractor network to hire from for live event coverage. When we’re in a city near you, we want to work with you. Paid opportunities across photography, videography, social media, and more.
FAQ
Do I need previous experience?
For our volunteer roles, no previous experience is required. Participation/experience within the scholastic space is highly encouraged.
Are these roles paid?
Our “Article Writer” and “Event Contractor” roles are paid. Our team is primarily volunteer at this time. We try to offer as many paid opportunities as we can, but at this time they are limited.
How much time does it take?
Staff can choose which projects to work on – on a flexible timeline. We expect proactive communication to discuss and meet expected deadlines, but staff work on their own schedule.
Can international students apply?
Yes, international students may apply.
What’s the commitment length?
We operate on a semester-by-semester schedule. We recruit at the beginning of each semester and request that staff stay with us for minimum one semester, creating 2 pieces of content per month to remain active.
How do I get paid?
Article Writers are paid per written piece – broken down into Breaking News and Feature articles. Event Contractors are paid per event. All contractors will be paid by Zelle or another payment platform of their choice (contractors are responsible for any platform fees). All CEN contractors are responsible for signing a work contract.
