Alienware returns to the collegiate esports scene, following the hype of collegiate Marvel Rivals.
With a riveting success from last year’s Alienware Collegiate Clash, the organization moves into a collegiate Marvel Rivals system with an in-person event on April 11, 2026, in Austin, TX, following two online qualifier events.
Following their first year back in collegiate esports, Alienware hosted the Collegiate Clash in collaboration with Apex Legends. The event was a huge success with Texas A&M University securing the win.

Sponsored by Alienware, Marvel Rivals developer NetEase, and Oversight Esports, the Alienware Collegiate Clash looks to cement itself in collegiate esports.
The event qualifiers consisted of fourteen teams competing in two round-robin style group stages. Each group stage consists of seven teams from the fourteen teams. The top two teams from each group stage would qualify to the main event in Austin, TX.
Over the weekend of March 2 and 3, the first online qualifier took place over the span of two days. In this qualifier, Florida International University and Winthrop University swept Group A, while the University of Kentucky and Purdue University dominated Group B.
Following the first qualifier, the second set of qualifiers occurred on March 5 and 6, with matches taking place throughout those two days. For the last qualifier, in Group A, teams such as Georgia Institute of Technology Gold and Kansas State University secured the playoff spots. In Group B, Texas A&M University and the University at Buffalo were able to lock in the final spots.
With this being one of the first collegiate Marvel Rivals tournaments, teams sought out the event and worked hard to qualify for the playoffs.
On April 11, 2026, the event will occur at the Alienware Longhorn Esports Arena in Austin, TX, giving each of these teams a place to compete for a prize pool of $30,000 USD and a championship in their school’s name.
The prize pool is split between first and second place, with first receiving $25,000, a Collegiate Clash trophy, and Alienware laptops supplied to each player. For second place, players will collect $5,000 and Alienware Pro Series headsets, representing one of the highest-paying prize pools dedicated to one title in collegiate esports. Each player competing in the tournament will receive a customized Alienware Collegiate Clash jersey.
Playoffs will begin with a double-elimination bracket with all matches being best of three games, excluding grand finals consisting of best of five games.
With matches to commence on April 11, 2026, the first matches will be played in the upper bracket quarter finals, starting with:
– University of Kentucky vs. Michigan State University
– Georgia Institute of Technology Gold vs. University at Buffalo
– Texas A&M University vs. Kansas State University
– Winthrop University vs. Purdue University

This event focuses on collegiate talent and giving Marvel Rivals teams a chance to showcase what they are capable of. While the event engages with the collegiate esports community, the Alienware Collegiate Clash is for all viewers, including casual Marvel Rivals fans, collegiate esports enjoyers, and even Marvel Rivals Ignite enthusiasts.
As the rise of collegiate esports continues, organizers such as Alienware, NetEase, and Oversight Esports continue to get involved with the scene every day.
Viewers can tune in to the action starting at eleven A.M. on April 11 and keep up to date with the tournament on social media platforms such as Twitch and X.
