Esports Foundry and VOICE team up to host the first-ever Scholastic Esports Awards in January 2025. This event will unite educators, students, and industry experts to celebrate talent, dedication, and innovation in the scholastic esports community. Crafted by industry professionals, coaches, and those with major involvement in the scholastic gaming space, the Scholastic Esports Awards will ensure authentic representation and a genuine reflection of community values. The awards will be determined through community submissions and decided by either popular vote or a combination of popular and committee votes. More information about the official voting process will be made available in September from their official X and LinkedIn pages.
The Scholastic Esports Awards is many years in the making and will be around for many years to come.
“Over the past four years, I have been involved in more than five scholastic-facing award shows. You learn a little more each time, and you think to yourself, ‘This is how we can make it even better.’ That moment clicked this year when we realized that previous initiatives might not happen again, which would leave a void within the space as a whole. I believe that recognition is important because identifying success inspires future success,” said Chris Postell of Esports Foundry.
According to Postell, the awards were born from a combination of experience in hosting award shows for various organizations and the realization that no one was fully pushing the envelope. The goal is to create a national platform where past and present successes can be recognized, and where individuals and organizations can come together in mutual celebration. To Postell – simply giving awards is not enough; the aim is to use that energy and momentum to take advantage of the presence of so many industry leaders in the same room to help elevate the industry through meaningful programming.
What is it like to be hosting the first Scholastic Esports Awards?
“It’s a great feeling! We know how heavy of a statement it is to come forward and make a declaration to the world. It’s our passion for the space that is why we take this so seriously. I am optimistic of a world that acknowledges how big and how impactful scholastic really is, and will continue to be, and will grow even larger into the future,” said Postell.
