With its launch, the organization announces its official USA Esports Alliance, its mission, and the personnel behind the scenes.
On March 17, 2026, the United States of America Esports (USA Esports) launched its official website and social media accounts.
Founded by Jesse Bodony, Executive Director of the Voice of Intercollegiate Esports (VOICE), USA Esports is “a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which means we are a charity, managed by a board, with a mission for the public good.” As the organization exists as a nonprofit, its main mission is to serve the United States and the community.
With its mission, Bodony shares how USA Esports is “an organization [made to] bring together the best esports talent in the United States to represent our country on the international stage.”
In Bodony’s article, he shares that USA Esports began after the announcement of Olympic esports in 2024 when he was given a directive by VOICE’s President’s Advisory Council to: “investigate what kind of organization could best develop the United States esports ecosystem domestically and establish the US as a competitive leader internationally.”
Bodony and Dan Clerke, Director of Esports at Maryville University, were given six months to investigate this directive. At this time, the two identified a need for a “purpose-built national entity [to] unify the US esports ecosystem.” This would lead to the creation of USA Esports.
In the first twenty-four hours of launching, the USA Esports official X account announced their Board of Directors and the USA Esports Alliance.
As the first post on the account, the organization recognized the inaugural Board of Directors. The post recognized these individuals as leaders with unique backgrounds that will collaborate to create the future of esports in the United States.

Individuals on this board come from various backgrounds, consisting of professional esports experience to CEOS to academic leaders. As a board and a set directive, the Board of Directors will “work to build structure, because it’s structure takes all of the incredible energy and talent and gives it a framework to reach that potential.”
Next, the organization introduced their USA Esports Alliance, consisting of collegiate esports clubs, academic institutions, and professional organizations that share a common vision of “elevating national competition and creating new opportunities for players across the country.”
Some of these groups consist of professional organizations such as Team Liquid, NRG, Spacestation Gaming, and many more. These groups also feature academic and collegiate institutions such as Maryville University, University of Texas at Dallas, West Virginia University, and more. In collaboration, these groups stand united as one, representing the USA Esports Alliance.

In collaboration with these groups, USA Esports partnered with American Technology Services as its official IT Services Provider, ensuring that its operations are maintained and work correctly every day. While working hand-in-hand with USA Esports to maintain their hardware, American Technology Services will work with the organization as a dedicated partner.
Bodony shares, “What there is, is a chance to be part of something from the beginning. To help shape the foundation that everything else will be built on.”
With the public launch of USA Esports, Bodony reinforces the importance of a governing body for esports in the United States: “International esports competition is here. Nations around the world are preparing their athletes to compete globally. The United States, for all of its talent and for all of its history in this space, is lagging behind… Our mission is to bring the US up to speed.”
Within the first twenty-four hours, USA Esports has made an impact in collegiate esports and the United States as a whole, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback and support from the community.
Going into the future, USA Esports will continue to announce updates and support the United States community as a whole, with Bodony sharing, “There’s a lot more coming and we can’t wait to share it with you.”
