A year after the last College Carball Association (CCA) summer series announcement, the Rocket League tournament organizer has announced its next tournament, set to take place in Summer 2024.
Earlier this year, eFuse announced a strategic partnership with the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) which would grant them the IPs of some of the largest collegiate esports leagues in North America. This includes College COD League (CCL) and the CCA.

The partnership came after a period of silence from CCA regarding their plans for spring and summer competition that left many fans wondering: what’s happening with CCA and where is CRL?
Now, CCA has returned, announcing its popular Summer Series. This allows collegiate Rocket League teams the chance to compete for cash prizes, fame, and glory over summer break.
On June 3, the CCA account tweeted: “It’s beginning to feel a lot like summer…” at 5:45PM ET, announcing a Twitch stream in the evening to discuss the upcoming summer tournament. The announcement was met with support and joy from over 30,000 viewers of the post, and hundreds more that tuned into the stream.
Host of the stream, Oliver ‘BassFromthePast’ Bass, noted that “it’s been a lot of time since the last time you guys heard from us,” as the stream opened, and then announced that the CCA would finally be returning for its next season, with a few updates to follow.
Format, Prizing, and Qualifier dates for the CCA Summer Series 2024
The CCA Summer Series 2024, sponsored by Nelnet Bank, boasts almost $10,000 in prize money for top placers in each conference. Players were also excited to hear during the live stream that recent alumni could participate in the tournament. This meant that students who recently graduated in the spring could play one more time with their teams.
Additionally, those starting their collegiate careers in the Fall semester are also able to participate.
Overall, the stream chat and social media replies were flooded with excited students and programs ready to jump back into the action.

The series also brings new changes to add some flavor to its release.
Previously, teams competed in two divisions per region (east and west) to qualify for spots in the playoffs, allowing for more competitors. Now, there’s only one division and 16 teams per region to qualify for the main event, similar to the traditional College Rocket League (CRL) format.
This makes the playoffs now a battle of the top 6 teams per conference. Streams will be hosted on the CCA official twitch channel every Wednesday throughout the League Play stage.
Registration is now open on start.gg for the first qualifier.
Qualifier Information:
- First Qualifier:
- East: June 15, 12pm EST
- West: June 15, 10am PT
- Second Qualifier:
- East: June 29, 12pm EST
- West: June 29, 10am PT
This announcement brings a new heat to the summer, as teams across the nation gear up for high stakes Rocket League. However, with such enthusiastic support for this series, will CRL make an official comeback in the fall season after a spring of silence? With any luck, we’ll see the top collegiate teams hit the pitch again with the start of the school year.
