After months of no communication, Overwatch Esports has officially announced information for College Overwatch Spring 2024 and Fall 2024. Additionally, they announced that Raidiant will run College Overwatch for the next two seasons.

This season of College Overwatch will follow a similar format to previous seasons.
When is College Overwatch Spring 2024?
College Overwatch Spring 2024 kicks off on March 30 and will run through May 19th.
- Registration: March 15 – 27
- Swiss: March 30 – April 20
- Groups: April 27 – May 5
- Championship Bracket: May 10 – 19
Additionally, OW Esports revealed the fall dates, which will kick off on September 28th and run through November 17.
Prizing Split
Colleges are competing for their share of the $75,000 prize pool.
- 1st: $25,000
- 2nd: $12,000
- 3rd: $8,000
- 4th: $6,000
- 5th-8th: $3,000
- 9th-16th: $1,500
Additionally, according to OW Esports, all players who sign up, compete, and “are in good standing at the end of the season” will receive in-game rewards.
College Overwatch Spring 2024 Format
Spring 2024
This semester’s College Overwatch format has not changed much, adopting a similar format from its previous Fall season.
In stage 1, teams will compete in the swiss stage – facing off against teams with similar records. From there, 64 teams will advance to the group stage.
Stage 2 features 8 groups competing in round robin, where the top 2 teams from each group will advance to the 16-team Championship bracket.
Finally, the top 16 teams will compete in a double elimination bracket to crown the champion.
Fall 2024
The Fall season of College Overwatch will look a bit different, namely trading the stage 2 round robin for 2 rounds of single-elimination to cut the teams from 64 to 16. Here’s a glance at the Fall Format:
- Stage 1: Swiss Stage (64 teams advance)
- Stage 2: Single Elimination (16 teams advance)
- Stage 3: Double Elimination to crown a champion

In the fall season, College Overwatch only hosted official streams for the playoffs stage. Despite this, it is likely that schools will stream their matches throughout the Spring season.
